TP310S is an austenitic heat resistant alloy with excellent resistance
to oxidation under mildly cyclic conditions through 2000ºF. Its high
chromium and nickel contents provide comparable corrosion resistance,
superior resistance to oxidation and the retention of a larger fraction
of room temperature strength than the common austenitic alloys like
TP304
Corrosion Resistance
TP310S has very good resistance to oxidation and sulphidation. It can be used in
● Air up to 1100°C (2010°F)
service conditions. Factors to consider are whether the atmosphere is oxidizing or reducing and vanadium are present
The high chromium content of TP310S makes the material resistant to oxidizing aqueous solutions. TP310S also has better resistance to chloride induced stress corrosion cracking than lower alloyed steels of type TP304 and TP316.
TP310S has good resistance in cyanide melts and neutral salts melts at high temperature.
Application
• Furnace tubes
• Recuperator tubes
• Muffle tubes in continuous wire annealing furnaces
• Thermocouple protection tubes
• Radiant tubes
• Tube hangers in petroleum and steam boilers
